This stunning Edwardian 9ct Gold Pendant takes the form of a crescent moon, with a seed pearl studded swallow to the centre together with a stunning bezel set aquamarine. The crescent moon, associated with the goddess and divine femininity, was often given as a love token—a declaration that the wearer was a “goddess” in the giver’s eyes. At its centre, the seed-pearl swallow symbolises loyalty and safe return, while the bezel-set aquamarine evokes calm, protection, and harmony. Together, these motifs create a beautifully crafted emblem of devotion, admiration, and hope.
The pendant is 3cm in length, suspended from a 42cm chain. It would also look beautiful suspended from a dog clip on a chunky belcher chain. This antique pendant is richly symbolic and very unusual: it would be a superb gift.
